This is the latest in my series of small portraits. It’s approximately 8.5″ x 11″ - mixed media on hardboard.
If you’re interested in modeling for this series make sure you get in touch with me! You don’t have to be a professional model and I welcome all shapes and sizes.
Kristen paints some pretty great stuff herself. You should swing by her website and take a look.
She also posted a video up on YouTube when she received her portrait in the mail. Check it out below:

Oil & Acrylic on Hardboard
I’ve been enjoying the portraits and I think I’m going to expand out their themes a bit more but maintain the same feel. If you’re interested in having your portrait painted in this style make sure to get in touch with me and let me know.

Got around to photographing this painting today. It’s part of the Morphology series. It’s a 12″ x 12″ canvas. Mixed media (collage, oils.) I have a few more from the series in progress. A suspension worm-girl among them. She’ll probably be finished before the rest.
I stretched a 38″ x 30″ canvas today so I hope to get started on that soon as well. Most likely it will be part of the series.
I can feel ideas churning in my gut, so by tomorrow I should have a finished preliminary drawing and be able to start on the base collage.
Basically I just hope to get some sleep tonight. I like the creative energy and everything, but it tends to keep me awake if I don’t submit to its will immediately. You know in Audition when the woman pokes the needles into the guy’s eyes? It’s something like that.

So I haven’t made any new original ACEOs or ATCs for quite a while, but it’s definitely something I enjoy. Recently someone on Etsy requested that I make some of my paintings into ACEO sized prints. She was even kind enough to give me a bit of a review in her blog.
It reminded me of how much I like to do the quick little tradable art. It lets me work quickly through ideas and still have a really good end result. It also gives people who can’t necessarily afford larger pieces the opportunity to own original art. It’s a pretty good deal all around.
I painted that little girlie today, and I pre-cut a bunch more blank cards so that I can grab one and paint something whenever the inclination strikes. If you’re interested in taking Little Brat home, she’s available in my shop.

New painting.
Original is available for sale either through my Etsy shop or my personal shop.
Best Friends For Never
Approximately 7.25″ x 14.5″ (with border for framing)
Oil on primed artist paper.
Most people have probably had a relationship or two like this in their lives. They suck! Unless you’re the one with the crown. Then who cares?
So besides my typical unhappy girlies, I’ve also been working on some more stuff with bugs. A while ago I happened to acquire a huge book of vintage 1960’s wallpaper samples. Score!
I have a bunch of ideas for future projects, but at the moment.. the ladybugs have returned to eat my brains. They do that, these imported asian ladybugs. They’re brain eaters.
Check it out. They’re small, square, super cute and would look great framed with a large matte around them.
They’re also available in my etsy shop (images on the right)
